NCInnovation Names RTP Veteran Linda Hall as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Durham, NC – NCInnovation, a nonprofit organization that helps turn North Carolina’s university research breakthroughs into commercially viable solutions, today announced Research Triangle Park veteran Linda Hall will join the organization as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
In this role Ms. Hall will be responsible for finance and accounting practices and performance, financial reporting and grant management, corporate development functions, and relationships with third-party investment manager(s). She will also assume responsibility for NCInnovation’s human resources, information technology, facilities, and related vendor management. Ms. Hall, a licensed CPA with 30 years of experience in public and private sector accounting, has led the Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina’s finances, investments, and operations as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the past 17 years.
Bennet Waters, CEO of NCInnovation, said, “Linda has been a leader in North Carolina’s research and commercialization ecosystem for two decades. With immense financial management and operations experience, as well as deep knowledge of North Carolina’s research landscape, Linda will add tremendous value to NCInnovation’s leadership team immediately.”
“As a stalwart advocate of RTP, Linda has championed the work we do every day to promote our Triangle Region, universities and the more than 375 companies within the Park. Her leadership, collaborative mindset and steadfast commitment to our mission were instrumental in guiding RTP through a period of transformational growth,” said Scott Levitan, president and CEO, Research Triangle Foundation. “Linda is well-positioned to build on her legacy of fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in her new role with NCInnovation, which promises significant advances for North Carolina’s research enterprise.”
At the Research Triangle Foundation, Ms. Hall was heavily involved in the strategic financial positioning of the investments made in Research Triangle Park. She also serves as the Finance Committee Chair on the NC IDEA Board of Directors, a board member for the Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW) organization, and is actively involved in the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) as part of its finance and membership committees, among other organizations.
Ms. Hall will assume responsibility for NCInnovation’s finances from interim CFO Mark Stohlman, an industry leader who came out of retirement to support NCInnovation until a permanent CFO was identified.
“Mark’s support has been crucial over the past year, and the entire organization is grateful for his contributions,” Waters said.
Earlier this week, NCInnovation announced additional new leadership hires: Josh Howard as General Counsel and Chief Ethics, Risk, and Compliance Officer, and Erica Shrader as Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
