NCInnovation supporting UNC Charlotte professor Dr. Jordan Poler’s research to filter forever chemicals from water

CHARLOTTE, NC – Jordan Poler, Ph.D., is leading critical research at UNC Charlotte to find more effective and readily available ways to remove PFAS, otherwise known as forever chemicals, from drinking water. WSOC-TV, an ABC affiliate, interviewed Dr. Jordan Poler about his development of a water filtration system to remove harmful PFAS. Dr. Poler is utilizing NCInnovation funding to partner with a local manufacturing company in Union County to test the viability and scalability of his technology.

Dr. Poler’s research is one of eight projects currently supported by NCInnovation grants. NCInnovation helps inventions advance towards commercialization by supporting university applied research through the critical R&D phase between proof concept and readiness for the private market.

Below is a local news story on Dr. Poler’s work. Wired magazine also ran an in-depth piece on the technology last week.
